Hot Muesli Cereal With Fruits, Almonds and Windigo
Ingredients
1 cup (250 ml) rolled oats 1/4 cup (60 ml) puffed rice 1/4 cup (60 ml) oat bran 1/4 cup (60 ml) flaxseeds 1/4 cup (60 ml) dried apricots, chopped 1/4 cup (60 ml) dried cranberries, chopped 1/4 cup (60 ml) toasted whole almonds Zest and juice of an orange 2 tsp. (10 ml) honey 1 tsp. (5 ml) ground cinnamon 2 cups (500 ml) milk 1 cup (250 ml) Windigo, cut into small cubes 1 apple, diced Preparation In a saucepan, mix the rolled oats, puffed rice, oat bran, flaxseeds, apricots, cranberries and almonds. Add the orange zest and juice, honey and cinnamon. Pour the milk and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the cheese and apple cubes. Serve hot. |
